How to Customize Blackberry Email and Folder Icons

Are you annoyed for having many email accounts with the same icon on your BlackBerry homescreen? You won’t have to be annoyed anymore, iCrack will show you how to customize the emails and folders icon.

First, you need to have BBFileScout application, a tiny file manager application for BlackBerry device. It is an absolutely free application and you can download OTA from http://www.emacberry.com/ota/BBFileScout.jad Secondly, you need to have the custom icon installed in your media card. We provide you with some custom icons here, you may save the icons into your media card.

Now you already have BBFileScout and the custom icons for your emails and folders. Let’s start..

8900 only allows you to customize the email icon

Customize Folder Icons
1. Go into BBFileScout > SDCard> BlackBerry > Directory where you save the icon > Highlight an icon > Press BB menu > Select Store ‘icon.png’ on stack

On FileScout v1.3.0.0 select Put ‘icon.png’ on vClipboard

2. Go back to BBFileScout first screen and go into System directory > Samples > Folder Icons > Press BB menu > Copy ‘icon.png’ to ‘Folder Icons’ > Rename the icon to Folderxx (eg. folder21) > Exit BBFileScout

Customize Email Icons

1. Determine your email’s UID in Options > Advanced Options > Service Book > Select the email you’d like to customize > Note the email’s UID

On FileScout v1.3.0.0 select Put ‘icon.png’ on vClipboard

3. Go back to BBFileScout first screen and go into Store > Appdata > RIM > BDA > Icons > Create a directory and name it under your email’s UID > Copy the ‘icon.png’ into the directory > rename the icon to: 1-80-80 (Bold & Jave) 1-58-43 or 1-48-36 (83xx) 1-73-73 (Storm)

-If you can’t find BDA and Icons directory, just create one
